Hello! and welcome to my web page.

Thank you for joining me here and may I introduce myself with my Life / Business 'Mission Statement'.

From my understanding of my Buddhist practice, I realise life is impermanent, always in a state of flux - but the 'Law of Cause-and-Effect' is eternal - So incorporating that in my Life / Business I follow the Hippocratic oath wherein 'I Will do no harm' - So the welfare of my client will ALWAYS come before my profit.

Also my favourite quote is by Bob Dylan: 'If you ain't busy living, your busy dying'.

So whilst living life to the full, I encourage my clients to do the same.

We all know this is not a dress rehearsal.

I have been a qualified Beauty Therapist since 1983 and have operated my self-employed beauty therapy business in Marylebone London for the past 35 years.

I qualified With an HND in Beauty Therapy, from the Abraham Moss College in Manchester.

This was the highest qualification in Beauty Therapy at that time ,covering all aspects of traditional Beauty Therapy -facial and body work, including in depth human biology instruction with cadaver work at the Manchester medical school, to the business side of employing staff and salon management taxation etc . During that time having experience work placement at the Midland hotel health club in Manchester(1980-1982)

After I qualified, I stayed in Manchester and was employed at ‘Drummonds Health Club ‘ and then ‘The Tan Salon’ Deansgate acquiring practical and retail experience until moving to London in 1983.

My first london job was at the famous ladies only health club ‘The Sanctuary’ in Covent Garden. Those of us (of certain age ) will remember a movie with Joan Collins and Oliver Tobias infamously using the overhead pool swing in a scene there.

Working in Covent Garden brought me into contact with many famous, infamous and theatrical clientele-all treated with my same professionalism, no matter how demanding! It was certainly an eye-opener for a girl from the north! But set me in good stead for the rest of my professional life. I often say and relate to the phrase “ nothing shocks me now but I’m constantly pleasantly surprised”-where the human condition is concerned!

I was employed in several different salons and in several managerial positions until 1989 when I decided to become self-employed.

For the majority of my working life I have lived and worked in the Marylebone area and this is where I opened my business.

It has been my priority over the past 38 years to keep up with the fads, fashion and trends of the beauty industry - whether I adopt them or not.

I can always give my advice, experience and expertise to recommend to my clients, information considered best for them, to illuminate their own beauty.

I hope that the testimonials here within, will attest to my honesty, integrity, loyalty, reliability, trustworthiness, professionality, having good old Northern commonsense ! and my services being good value for money.

Outside of my work, I have been a practising Buddhist since 1983- of the ‘Nichiren ‘School and member of SGI-UK.

The philosophy of which extends into my business life, so your treatment is totally tailored to your absolute requirements.

I am a Beauty Therapist NOT a beauty sales lady.

While I will certainly give you my opinion -if asked for-on products/ treatments available from low to high price range available in the market place,it is totally your choice whether to go out and buy them. I am a big believer in ‘knowledge is Power’ and a lot of treatment/products etc available within the beauty industry is akin to ‘the emperors new clothes’ syndrome etc. A panacea to ‘heal all ills’ it is not! I have the mind to start a blog called ‘The Ugly Business’! (When I have the time)

During your consultation, I may even refer you to another therapist despite losing your business, your welfare is more important to me.

Over the many years in this industry ,I have acquired a directory of therapists in all aspects of body and facial work medical and non-medical that I could recommend.(no commission is accepted for my referrals-A good treatment will always stand on its own integrity)

I also I’m a Volunteer Trustee ( since 2015) for a mental health charity called ‘Food And Behaviour’ -(www.fabresearch.org) informing healthcare professionals on how nutrition ,affects brain development. Please look at this website, if you have any connection with ADHD, Dyslexic Dyspraxia, children etc.and now also we inform on brain development preconception/conception, adolescent, teenage, adult and senior mental health problems ,life style implications, possible solutions etc.

We have an active website, with podcasts , video lectures etc and run conferences annually ( pre covid - now on zoom) around England to inform and educate with the latest research.

In my spare time, I enjoy London life specifically theatre, ballet, opera, live music, cinema, historical /sightseeing London and of course restaurants.
